Aha! bungei it is. Manchurian Catalpa.
Looks like Jeff is it.
I figured once everyone was in the ball park it would come down to elimination. I like it when I help people learn. Good job both.

I had it the whole time, I was simply toying with you like a kitten toys with a ball of yarn! :-p

Got one, on my way home from work now, have it up in a bit!

Syringa reticulata ????
That bark looks very prunus to me though........

Well,...I have been known to miss a few and besides I've been out working in the hot sun all week and that messes up your brain cells...temporarily...!

Plus all I really can see in the photo are the large "flower-fingers".

I don't know how Tom & TNT can see the trunk bark it's completely dark in that area on my computer.

Okay,I'll try one more...
Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana)??

-Diane-

Diane, I already guessed the virginiana cultivar 'Schubert.' I was w-r-o-n-g LOL!

The leaf arrangement looks like a hickory or an ash almost, but the tree looks like an ornamental; I just can't tell. I will look again later.

-Tom

It is indeed ornamental. Largest I've worked on was approaching probably 40' wide and maybe 20-25' tall with a dbh of probably 7-8". And that was a large specimen for these from what I've seen.
