Anyway.....Populus is right, Hybrid Black Poplar - Populus x euroamericana, that tree is in Scotland. It is a cross between the European Populus nigra and American Populus deltoides and Populus angulata or sumfing like that, I dunno.

I dont think white pine...but there are a variety of other pines that grow more rounded....I was walking through the arbold arboretum yesterdayand was astounded by all the different kinds of pine trees that all have essentially the same form...
