What the policy does allow for is for you to buy it, throw a rope up in the rafters in the garage, hang from it, adjust it a bit, hang some more, think about it for a day , and if you still aren't sure, think about it for a week, then hang from it one more time...then if you don't like it, box it up, wait a week until you can get to the post office, then ship it back.
It's not a bad deal. I once ordered several pair of spikes, got them, checked them out, put them on....then kept one pair and sent the rest back. I knew I'd be eating a hefty shipping cost, but it sure beats being up in a tree wondering if you would have been better off with another pair.
