TreeMotion Saddles In Stock

[ QUOTE ]
The Revolver wasn't originally designed to be used in the application that arbos are putting it. The original idea was a more efficient quickdraw redirect. In a low load application I can see the benefit compared to using a full-on pulley. When the loads go up there is more of a benefit to using more efficient pulley.

When I've used my Revolver I realize that I'm giving up some mechanical advantage but I gain simplicity and a more stream lined setup.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree, with the exception that in the instructions that come with the Revolver, they show a diagram using the Revolver to replace a pulley in a load lifting application. If the purpose of the configuration is to gain mechanical advantage, the Revolver could very well, due to inefficiency, cancel the mechanical advantage.

A few months come on mr tree are you serious?I thought the same thing about my butterfly 2 and that was years ago.In fact one of my climbers who tears up anything is still wearing it and its in great shape.Just because a harness is not 100% American cow hide and American steal and weights 20 pounds doesnt mean that it will not last.Did some body say america, let me tell you something about America-----

I got to use a TM for a month care of a good friend's generosity. I can't say I noticed a change to the harness.

What I DID notice was the change back to my Glide (I think Binford tool when I think Weaver for some reason......arghargh)my kidneys are very unimpressed with the reversion. I have attempted to seat the Glide low on the hips, but to no avail, alas my kidneys continue their torture.

I would like to try the TF as well, and I bet a nickle Buckingham is drafting a new design as we speak.

Those that don't climb much, or carry less passion for the art easily scoff at the fussiness of those that do.

Keep the tail feathers cocked dude! And by the way- don't go so easy on the so-called "splicing experts" who so cleverly pitch their services as well.

[/ QUOTE ]

I might be kind of irritated if I were one of those "so-called 'splicing experts'". Theres no secret is there? All the cordage manufacturers give the directions to you right on their websites.

Boy, that sentence looks to be missing some manners. That's a funny way to ask for a favor.

Wolter, thanks for keeping an eye on things here and trying to keep it fair. Sean should have let you know that he is a big part of Sherrill Tree. Then maybe we could've avoided some of these posts. I'll smack him when I see him. Very cool that you spoke up though.

Mike, holy avatar Batman!

Tom and I try to weigh how info is delivered here. What I mean is, if someone actively participates in a genuine manner and then also discusses a product that they developed, they will get more air time than someone who solely self promotes. These individuals still get some emails from us behind the scenes. However, the point of a site like TB is to make info available. A new product is always good info to me.

Someone who pays for ad space here and helps support our online neighborhood can post info regarding their business whenever they like. Sean and Tobe are part of this group. And, unless you dislike TB, I would ask that you support them and be respectful in your replies to them since they support our site. It's just good manners.

Well I can't go around having my name confused with the Boy Scouts now can I? And I guess I wasn't really looking for a favor but somehow expected a company so big and knowing to have a facility to try out gear. Something more elaborate than a rope on a pole in a store.
I expect that if I walked up to a man I never met before and he tells me his name is ROY and I say" like Roy Rogers?" that man would turn and walk away or pop me in the mouth. What can I say but I am old fashioned.

So what is the story anyway? how long do these saddles hold up? What I should ask is what the recall ratio is, got the answer for that one?

You don't know of any companies that would let you try out stuff before you buy it because you have not spent thousands of dollars at a company. How many thousands spent on things that were junk? Thank you for the advice but don't you know that money talks and personable walks?

I would imagine you could return them within a timely period, and if they were still in excellent shape.

bsaville, youve already said your going with a weaver so why are you still complaining, not to mention the fact that ive already offered you a test ride in my tm, what more do you want? and as far as spending thousands of dollars on things your right, because i do my homework, ask my fellow treebuzz brothers questions, i LISTEN TO THEIR ANSWERS and then i decide wheather i should buy or not, why dont you listen for a change instead of waiting for your turn to talk, enjoy your weaver.

Sorry Mark. I guess I sort of assumed that people know that I work for SherrillTree, and I shouldn't have. I really was trying to keep the post as "unsalesmanish" as possible, which is why I didn't post a link, pricing or pics.

Now, as for smacking me... anytime you wanna drop the gloves, I'm game....pretty boy. hahahaha!

You are not married are you? I do listen but much of the time all I hear is crap. All I wanted to know is if Sheerill had a place I could go to try a few saddles and talk to some people who have tried them. The first thing I got was some jerk making fun of my name and sarcasm from Tobe.
I pretty much walked this earth solo from the time I was able to walk so my attitude does show intentionally. If I waited for my turn to talk I would still be waiting for the bartender. I don't give many people much room, I know, but I do listen. I listen for the train. It goes woo woo so I know to get out of the way. These days I enjoy a game of chicken.
What is it woth to you to come to Phoenixville to help for a day trimming my trees? Maybe I can try your saddle then.
Thanks for replying to my cynism, I do appreciate the input. I do apreciate the forum in which it was expressed as well. I do appreciate young guys like you who are into their jobs. My advice to you: Don't settle, don't take wooden nickles amigo and if you believe it, it must be true.
Hope to listen to you soon, Ben.

For the record I really enjoy climbing in my tree motion.Over the years I guess Ive climbed in maybe 8 different harnesses and the tm is by far the best. Its not perfect and maybe not for everyone but its the better option as far as im concerned.I also tested the tree flex for a week or so and its also a really nice harness. As far as the price, well a good climber can make that in a day so big deal.I was skeptical at first but its worth it as far as im concerned.

I enjoy my weaver as well. It is simply designed and tough and versitile. I think that the tremotion cost a little more than what the best climber can make a day but I don't know for sure and it is not the point. I have yet to see anyone around here with one and from looking at what is actually on the shelves I will usually go for the weavers. and shy away from neoprene and the like.
One day I went to a Sherrill Tree Demo and the guy with the Sherril truck acted like I was going to run away with anything I took off the truck. I like a little give and take and expect it.
Once again all I asked in the begining was if Tobe could let me know if he could help me. I was expecting his reply to be much more profesional and helpful and got a little excited when he started with the BSA thing and well I thought to let him know I didn't like it. Not one bit.
If I had the resources I would set something up where climbers could try gear in a work-like setting.(and not be charged) Unfortunatly I can't. Mailorder is risky for a number of reasons as you should know. My saw and gear shop will let me take whatever I want outside and use it til they close for the day. If I buy something and use it on the job I can bring it back and say "this is a piece of crap Paul" and he credits my account. Why would I want to do business any other way?
One day I bought some stuff by means of the Sherril cataloge back when their prices were reasonable. I got a few things and one of which was the Line Tamer. This thing was crap and it really was for fishing line. What it was doing in a cataloge for arborist I don't know. I called Sherril and told them so and put the return label on the box and put in on the front porch. They wanted me to drive to the Post Ofiice myself to mail it back. I think since I paid extra for the conveince of mailorder that this was unreasonable. My time equals my time not Sherrils. I did go and make a mountain out of a molehill but there have been lawsuits won over less. Lawsuits that start out with a 99 cent cup of coffee or a little ice on the walkway.
I work for myself not for other businesses. I never worked a day in my life for someone else(unless for charity) I work for me, for my bills and betterment. If you think your boss is tough.Ever since I could push a reel mower I had my own businesses and worked at other places for the experience. I guess I go black and white alot and my attitude is unmoving but I don't peddle crap. Ever! And to let someone serve you a batch runs against my principles. After all it is the little things that kill.
right now I am dealing with a lady who wants me to pad the bill for some Ins work. I have heard others brag about making money like this and thinking it fun to gank the Ins Co.(which I am sure it is) I just got beat for 800 for a lapse in the auto ins when we bought a new car.(1 month of coverage). I did call to inform the ins co within the allotted time but they claim this is not so. I tracked the phone log and sent them a copy. They called to apologize.
Every last thing I own has been gotten by fair trade which I find is hard to do. The one thing that might be harder to do is to try take it away or rip me off.
I can't help but feel that if I let my guard down I will pay for because it is true. I find if I just listen and don't challenge I don't get the whole story. Most people just say what you want to hear and leave out the other stuff. Gray is not my color. Lets hash it out now before we get started. Thanks for your input. Ben.

Tobe:
Mr. Bsaville,

We do not have a deposit-loaner program but do allow full refund on unused gear if returned within 30 days (sometimes longer if within reason). I hope this meets your needs.

Yes, i too have experienced buyers remorse in the past and probably will again in the not too distant future (hopefully minus the pinching effect you so eloquently describe). One of the great things you have to take advantage of on this very web site is someone elses buyer's remorse. I would encourage you to read around.

Best of luck in your search for the perfect match!!

Tobe sounds professional and polite to me. Buy a saddle and return it within 30 days if you dont like it. Of course the saddle must be in new saleable condition when you return it, just like anywhere else.

Ever buy a book in a bookstore and want to return it? The book must be in new condition for the bookstore to take it back. No tattered pages or coffee stains for example.

Seems like a very reasonable sales policy on the part of Sherrill tree to me. After all, the equipment is for life support, so if the buyer subjects it to a truck pull for example and then returns it, the next buyer could be in danger of their life.

If Sherrill had a TreeMotion that they sent out to prospective buyers to try out, that saddle might be used in an improper way by one prospective buyer (such as 'testing' it by hooking it up to a truck), and then the next prospective buyer might suffer an accident from the saddle being damaged.

Yes, I agree.

Come to TCIA! That is a great place to hang in a saddle or try out new equipment.

I am not a salesperson for any company , nor am I a representitive of TCIA. Just a common Arborist who runs their own company.
