Treemotion Adjustmen Help!

I have recently purchased a treemotion and cant seem to get it fitted correctly. I have read that people say to loosen the leg straps but im tired of getting my nuts crunched! Anyone have any advice for what has worked for them?

I let my leg straps hang down to the back of my knees just about. It seems to be working pretty good at keeping the nuts from getting the squeeze. Still happens once in a while but not very often at all

I've seen that the monkey beaver belt has straps that tighten the leg pads around your leg to keep them in place. Sounds like a great idea and I'm guessing very functional

Thats what i heard to do but they keep riding up. Maybe im just shaped weird. Hopefully ill figure it out soon because it seems like a cadillac compared to my old version sequoia so far. Ill check into the MB straps and see if they're something i can ninjarig.

the TM is meant to be worn lower on the hips, which feels a little awkward at first. Also, as swingdude says you gotta have an ass to keep it up, especially when wearing it lower. but you probably already knew all this.

I'm an old timer who has just recently decided replaced my old floating dee-leg strap saddle with a new modern saddle. I tried New Tribes, Matt Cornells, and Treemotion saddles. I tried adjusting the legs fairly loose like everyone suggests, but it never felt right on any of these saddles. Then I started running them with the legs pads tighter and higher more like on my old saddles. Bingo! The problem with running them loose for me was that there was to much movement, and they had enough slack to run up my thighs and pinch me. Now the Treemotion is the most comfy saddle I have ever used, and will probably be my last saddle. I recently saw a video of August talking about his Monkey Beaver saddle, and he says that he also runs his leg pads up high. Give it a try. You might like it.

Thanks for that and ill give it a try. I feel it makes sense to have less movement. Have you added any shoulder straps to help hold up the saddle when loaded with tools/saws, or has that not been a problem for you?

I do wear suspenders as I do nothing but removals, so I always have a saw strapped to me. I run the nicer weaver suspenders, and use the Treemotion accessory chord to create attachment loops. The front attachment points are the holes just above the hip dee's, and the rear points are the holes to each side of the web loop on the back of the saddle. I will get u some pics later today of how I attach my suspenders. $35 and works like a champ!

How tall are you TreeVB? I'm 6'3" and I had the same problem. The leg strap shock cord was to short and caused the leg straps to move up and crush my nuts. I went to my local REI and purchased some shock cord.

Im definitely interested in how you attached it. I got the MCRS suspenders but havent tried them yet. Got them for removals while contract climbing. Personally i do mostly pruning. Thanks for your input!

Im 5'10 and that seems to be the problem im having. Although youre a bit taller, maybe i have long legs and short torso or something. Ill try them tighter and if not i may give the longer shock cord a shot

I adjusted my TM slightly everytime i got it until i got the fit right. And the thing i found most key was the adjustable straps between the upper and lower D's. Adjust that to be pretty high as far as my fit goes. My leg straps are about halfway down my leg. I find that if you keep the straps loose enough to put them on without using the buckles but still snug putting it on is a good fit. Although i wear a leg mounted saw so i always clip them on and off, just for fitting wise i found that helpful
