Thanks for the encouragement! I figure that I shot my mouth off so much, I may as well go ahead and show the ugly beginning.... and HOPE to be able to post some awesome progress. HOPE is the key word.

Yeah, yeah, I will post something more fun & entertaining, but now I'm kinda obsessed w/ taking the whole action apart...The pros do it so fast, it's impossible to see what's even going on in their vids (thank you Ms Hedger!!) but ummm... I think I owe Josephine a pint :) :)

There are 3 vids - days 5, 6 and 7. Not really what I want to show, but since Songbird is in a hurry...have at 'em.

Probably day 6 is the best. Day 7 sucks but it hs beer drinking. Day 5 is probably the best vid but not proper technique.

I will still wup Yank *ss, despite this poor effort and the sh*tty Canadian production values.

YES! I knew you had some Corb Lund in you! Respect, keep up the good work. I'm going to compete in my chapters TCC and I definitely need to hit the "tree gym". Problem is finding a park where people won't get all pissy thinking I'm going to kill the tree or ask me if I have a permit to climb. Up the ante and footlock on Canadian Terms... Ice skates. :)

I had the same thoughts with the trees. I have good friends with a nice tree. My permanent practice tree - big Siberian elm.

Corb Lund is awesome, some of the very little country music I like, but I like it a lot.

You can get a pair of goalie skates and you should be good for not cutting rope. Yeah I'm in the GTA so everyone thinks that arborists are terrible people out to mow down the green space, but that's because we got some pretty strict tree ordinances... That's kind of a lie, there are a lot of rad people that are very down and understanding of what we do. But it's very common to run into a nutter who's just out to make your day miserable. I am trying to find a nice secluded tree, away from people so I can relax and focus on my thing, hopefully a nice oak.

Truth on the mediocre at best on the Canadian, if they only would bring the price down, it would dominate the discount beer world. But I'm pretty faithful to my Carling so they would need to toss in some sweet swag.

Corb Lund is pretty awesome, Truck got stuck has to be one of the best musical pieces ever written.

I brought up the hockey skates only cause I did hear through the grapevine that 2 dudes went head to head in high heels, thought it would up the ante. But being a Canadian, I do know a tendy so if he has some extra goalie skates, I shall see if I can squeeze into them and try to shoot up one of my old ropes to put my money wear my mouth is.

Just faxed my form to the Ontario chapter, hopefully it all went through, the sending report that came back kind of cut out my signature, which is kind of pretty important. I will just watch my email, Im probably going to get me asass handed to me.

I wonder if I should make a TreeBuzz Men and Women Footlock vid? Like the so-called calendar vids I've made(well, Grace has made)?

Short clips of whatever stunts people want to try. Crazy dress, hauling stuff...whatever as long as its relatively safe I guess.

YES! Best of luck in Ontario, Treeness! and I think the skates would be legal as long as they go above your ankles, so go rock the blades, you crazy Canucks! That would actually be cool, tho possibly painful.

Dudes FLing in heels? I've seen a vid of 2 dudes in their underwear, or maybe "european swim wear" doing the FL challenge... hilarious.

Frax, great video idea, that would be entertaining to say the least. Can people just send you & Grace video clips? how will this work?

I think I'll put together a montage of all the cursing/ fist shaking moments on my practice vids so far.

my weakness during footlocking is weak abs. My arms can keep up but the lifting the legs part is what i feel go first.

One thing i plan on purchasing soon is the iron gym pull up bar that goes in a door frame but comes with the elbow straps so you can do leg lifts and work on ab strength

Good idea on the pull bar Casey. I have one of those.

I worked my core and upper body relentlessly all winter since it was way to cold to actually do any FL. And too cold and rainy in spring to really get going. Finally in mid-June, got serious. I'm strong enough now. Never need to rest on the prussik at all, but its going to take awhile to get the arm movements smooth and grab the lock hard each time, no exceptions.

Would be awesome to have actual hands-on coaching around here, but that's not gonna happen.

I do want to thank each one of you who has given me encouragement, tips, advice and coaching, including vids. You know who you are. THANK YOU. All advice has been heeded and incorporated into the training. Every bit has helped enormously.

And to think a month or so ago I had no idea how long the prussik should be and how to deal with that d@mn figure 8. The internet is SO COOL. You guys are SO COOL. Thanks!

If your abs are getting tired you are doing it right. Your arms should only be holding your weight while extended.
