"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman" title on the line...

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

You RULE!! I love these videos! May I use them for our upcoming women's tree climbing workshop?!??!?!?!

Also... keep practicing. Four locks first day and what I thought I counted 6 the next, killer progress!

I found the only way to get better is to develop those muscle sets. Naturally we don't really have them as women, but we can absolutely build them! I got some great video to share.... let's see if I get utube em and link em back up for ya. Stay tuned....

Meanwhile - wish you could come to Milton, MA for Sept 24=25 weekend! ;)

Keep kicking serious butt, before you know it... you'll be breaking a minute for 40'! :)

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

I am a lady who has been footlocking for a couple of years, I am determined to get better before next summer. I can always make out up a tree, but it is just a matter of how long it will take. When I get under 30 seconds I will post a video and start talking smack. Way to go ladies.

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

Great article, I remembered it, but could not find it, Thanks

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

BEST of luck up there in the in the Great White North, you are totally ready & will do yourself proud!!

We have been lucky to see all the progress you've made, and some of us have had to go out and practice a little harder because of the bar you and the other TreeBuzz FL women have set so high!

GO you crazy Canuck woman!!!! Then I will see YOU in Kentucky next month (I'll be waiting at the top of the tree, after smacking the bell!!) lol

Have fun, can't wait to hear about it

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

Hey! Welcome to the Buzz!
I have been off here most of the summer, but it is good to be BACK! I think you will find this to be a great and supportive community of climbers and tree lovers. It is really helpful to hear what other women are doing in tree world.

I'm a rec climber, and FLing is the name of the game for me right now, I wanted to learn something new... for some fun, for a personal challenge, and then it turned into a seriously ferocious, to-the-death, grudge match competition!!! which is open to ALL! So jump on in... I have found it to be something that at first seemed damned near impossible to do at all... hence lots of room to grow here :)

Cheers!!! Post that vid!

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

the workshop snuck up on me!!!!!! I got so lost in this summer... now kids are back to school, I'm kickin in w/ some projects...
sigh... I really wanted to make it out your way this year!

Frax, somebody's gonna video this for ya, right???

[/ QUOTE ]

Dunno Laurie. I'll bring a cam. Maybe some bystander will shoot somethig and NOT take off with my cam!!
It's gonna be good times for sure. Forecast is calling for 30 degrees which I think is 83 in American.

And yeah...see you in Kentucky. Look up! That's where I'll be!

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

Well, FRAX did an awesome job at her first comp!
Scoring in all events...she WON throwline, completed AR (saying that one was a blast!) turned in a Footlocking time under a minute, and did well in the master's!
She reports that it was an amazing experience... I'm sure she'll tell the TB folks all about it, just wanted to say a big CONGRATS!!!!

Nice work sista, let's have a group hug!

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

I received about 2000 images of the comp and I will spend some time this weekend and make a short vid showing highlights.

But this was the Masters tree. You can barely see me in it. The biggest frikkin piece of vegetation you will find on the Western Plains (To paraphrase Gerard Fournier).

Masters tree by altacal, on Flickr

It is a massive Eastern cottonwood. My throw was about 70 feet with a 65 foot FL to get up there. And that was just to access the lowest possible part of the tree.
The men shot higher and set two ropes. Needed 200 footers on Ddrt.
Only one man completed all stations...Jesse Antonyshyn of Winnipeg using two SRT lines - new PCTCC Masters champ. Frank Chipps and Ken Moore had awesome climbs and it was a privilege just to watch these two world class athletes kick it old school.
Emily Michaelson also of Winnipeg won the womens. I got up fast and had a realistic shot at it but DQd with time on the clock by dropping a throwbag. Oh well...Next year!

L - this video is AWESOME! It's inspiring and I'm psyched you continued on with training ... it's so great you have video with your progress over time.

Just took the only event I flew through in this past chapter TCC - footlocking at 28 seconds! I WISH someone took video but dad was too busy cheering :)

Best of luck to you girl and I know your smile will carry you up that rope!!!

Re: \"TreeBuzz FootLockin Woman\" title on the line...

28 seconds!!! Oh my god! Congrats, speed demon

what an accomplishment!

you have been cruising since you started training this year... it was your vid that inspired ME to keep trying this summer... and isn't that what it's all about here?

Thanks for the good words& encouragement, I'm having fun w/ this whole thing.

When is your next comp? I think you need to head East sometime this year... maybe Charlotte? The calendar girls need to climb together.
