Nice rig Dan.

You'll love the f350. I just got one in November, its a beast.

Nice out your way.

I saw you worked on the Dewey Oak. I admire that tree on our trips to Southwick 338 and Rockwood MX.

Why was the large lower limb over the road removed? Storm damage?

Re: Tree Truck set-ups. Let\'s see what you\'ve done

Thanks! Unfortunately a large box truck, despite low clearance signs put in by the town, hit the limb one night and drove away. We never found out who did it. We brought in a consulting arborist for a second opinion, and he said that the limb was so compromised and posed a threat to the road and public that it had to go. Real shame. And the October 2011 snow storm really did a number on the tree. Not the same tree anymore.

I took this picture before the snow storm, probably just two months before

Also brendonv, rockwood mx is awesome! Dan Woodger is a cool guy. I havent rode up there in a while, but his track is fun

Re: Tree Truck set-ups. Let\'s see what you\'ve done

Thanks for the response dan. I was pretty upset when i first drove by and saw the limb missing. I saw your report after i posted that and also to me it didn't seem deadly. But thats town liability so they did what they had to do.

Had this dropped off last July from Ballard Mack. It's the bee's knees.

dang that's nice!

Re: Tree Truck set-ups. Let\'s see what you\'ve done

thanks. It was a month and a half overdue. I had a ton of issues with my other trucks that year and kinda blew my mind out. Had to get something under warranty that would work every day without issue.

Re: Tree Truck set-ups. Let\'s see what you\'ve done

That's awesome to have that piece of mind. It's kind of a bummer to depend on one truck that may sh;t the bed at any moment! Lot's of anxiety.

What is the make and model of that truck. I'm assuming it's a mack, but I can't find anything that looks like it.

Gorman, I mean this in the best way possible...You could either be taken as a tree service (due to the chip body & chipper in tow), or a tour bus for an 80's metal band. Either way, it's original and good looking!
