Tree or Weed?

Anyone have any clue what this could be? I'm not a horticulturist by any means, just trying to help out a customer...

If not konjac it certainly is an amorphophallus. Named for it's flower which blooms before any foliage comes up. The flower has the odor of rotting meat and attracts insects. We have a konjac out back here NE of Atlanta but it's not near as large as the one in the photo.

Also called cobra lily, voodoo lily and snake lily.

I would keep and cultivate it. Watch for the bloom in late spring and then leaves 30 days later.

Thank you Dan, I didn't know where to begin! I was going to use the process of elimination but couldn't tell what category to start at. /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif
