Tower Climb

Yep. I believe it has been posted... but, no worries.

Hopefully those tower climbers have discovered Atlas gloves. Or, any glove with the latext palms. I can't stand gripping something with leather gloves. Over time they become very slippery.

I could go on for hours about that video. Pretty much everything represented as fact is completely untrue. I worked towers before tree work and that video is a really poor representation of the whole shebang.

The osha quotes, completely false. The logic behind climbing without protection, totally unsound. Dragging a tool bag that low below you, ridiculous. The listing on that post about him being any type of engineer, laughable.

Arguably working on those extremely tall guyed towers is few and farther between. Most self supporting towers are 300 or less feet with exceptions in the 450-500' range. There is one example I know of in Cincinnati of a 950' self supporter. Guyed towers can basically be as short or as tall as the site/financing allows. Taller ones are built with jin poles and I believe the the tallest is around 2000'.

As far as that video goes those guys looked like idiots, and that movie caused a huge backlash in the industry.
