Too Many Mistakes Too many deaths.

I agree, Daniel.

Wearing PPE only shows that there is an inclination to work safely.

PPE is just words...what about actions?

I worked with a guy who abided by all of the company PPE issues but would do something at least once per week that would scare me. I don't scare easily either. the things he'd do would eventually hurt/kill him or others. All of the time, wearing PPE.

Another example of painting over rust. It only covers the surface so it looks nice from a casual observance.

This is undoubtedly a business that has it's share of risks. I can only hope that with better technology and training we can prevent further incidents.

I completely agree with posters who are agaisnt boasting on safety. We should be aware that these accidents are possibly and dangerous.

It's having a culture of safety first where it would be out of place to not do things right. Once that breaks down then people become lax.

Skansa, an international building contractor were constructing the new Panasonic office adjacent to my wife's offices. I was always impressed by the emphasis on safety on the site. You just wouldn't walk onto that site without a hardhat and all your proper gear without feeling really out of place.

Absolutely true. A friend of mine is a manager on the new 34st Train Station in Manhattan being done by Skanska. A couple of weeks ago he took me on a visit of the station and I had to put on safety equipment while on the site. They are very safety conscious. He is always talking about training and standards they do on their jobsites.
