Today....

Brought out Dan Kraus and his crew on a job. Big twice previously topped cedar and a fir.

Iron on site: 9” chipper, 12” chipper, 90’ crane, 40’ bucket, Vermeer 725, two chip trucks, crew of 6

20 mph gusts all morning and on and off after lunch

The big cedar had about 10 tops, and measured 50” at the butt. Ok, this wasn't really today, but I'll still post it.
I was staying with a family friend in the St. Louis area, and she had a large oak, a sweet gum and a small maple in the backyard, that desperatly needed deadwooding, especially with the proximity to the house and the storms going on. My problem was that I only had 50' of 3/8" tenex tec and a webbing sling as a harness. I did have some biners and other hardware, including a ropewrench. Oops. I'm glad that was my old corona saw, that's pretty dull by now, not my sharp siky...
