Tips and Tricks

If there is a tree I like rec climbing in, ill buy a cheap roll of masonry twine and tie that to my rope when I go to pull my rope at the end of the day, cut it at the right length, and tie it off at the bottom. that way I don't have to waste time throwing the next time I want to just run up a tree.

Drywall tape followed by duct tape over stress point in the middle where they always seem to crack on rake or broom helps beef it up,keep from broken handles , if you got the power raker groundy on the crew!
Edit : just realized were in climbers talk , but I'm the climber and the broken handle fixer on my crew ,so bear with me!

This stuff is much cheaper, practically NO stretch, black if you want so others don't see it and easy to carry lots of it. I also use it on my fishing reel when making the really high shots with my launcher.

yeah, i noticed the "oogru" - i think you originally called it - was similar. but that's moldable, this is hard as a rock in minutes. can be chiseled, filed, sanded. definitely watch the vid. the guy using it is fixing some expensive sh!t with it.

the oorgru is cool too Tom :) Honestly, I need to read about it a little more. Thanks.

Oogru would work nicely for the top of a RR because people common complain about it not being "finger friendly"

I think you'd have to find a way to make it lock into its position though. like a hole drilled through to give it "teeth". otherwise, wouldn't it eventually just pull off?

It is later now....I just could not leave this one with only a like! Thanks now to the laboratory.
Curious. What'd ya think?

Oh yeah, another tip. Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is cured by moisture. Water will harden it pretty quick, which is why it sticks so well to your fingers. But ever notice how the next time you pull out an already used tube of it it's hard as a rock. Then you have to buy more?

Just store it in a closed jar with some desiccate (those little moisture absorbing packs you find in packages). You can also use a little kitty litter in the bottom of the jar.

Apparently the caps on the tubes of glue are nylon, which will absorb moisture, and the glue companies want us to keep buying glue. :)

Ever get tired of the cambium saver sliding down are not quite staying in place? Put some shrink tube over it and cut small slits on the back side, this will give it a little bit of permanent bend and also some added protection and help to keep it in place.

I did TL. My daughters went outlet shopping a few weeks ago and when one of them put something on last night they noticed the tag was never removed. Googled the tag and found out how they deactivate them in the stores. Then used the mag and could hear it clicking the release. Worked perfectly.
