Latest word I got back from Nate at RE:
"It's still in the cooker and we still don't have a solid date for releasing it yet" "I'm really hoping to have it ready to show off at this years TCIA Expo - but many factors could decidedly delay launching it then." "We aren't doing any pre-orders and haven't even established a pre-buy program with dealers yet because we just aren't at that phase yet."
So, don't hold your breath. But at least it's "in the cooker", I always love a good crock pot dinner - the extra time really blends the flavors.
If testing climbing equipment is anything like electronics, it willif the ce certification process gets bogged down
True, but RE also has to think about their foreign distributors who would get left out. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and that bridge never needs crossingPrivate individuals, presumably not European employers for professional use, would be able to get their hands on them, the world over, if they're released in the US.
People won't be left out in the cold.
Well it's been a great ride but I am officially on the Akimbo sideline now.
My Akimbo is gone.
I like to think it went to a better place, services to be held on Sunday. Here are the details.
Those are my current two options as well. I just thought for the right price someone would let it go so I can judge for myself.Good question. I was surprised to see the one sell through treebay recently (and tried to buy it.) I use mine everyday I climb. And I still really like the Hitch Hiker and Bulldog Bone. I just like the Akimbo more.
We are very fortunate to have so many exceptional tools at our disposal.
