The Wraptor

Anybody tried this yet? I got a shot at today and wow. I went up 100 feet in 60 seconds and was actually a little chilly. It's nice to sweat a little. I'm interested in what you thought of it if you have tried it. I was a little scared at first. It didn't seem natural.

I had my first flight the other day and loved it. Can't wait to do it again and again and .. you get it.. lots of power and fast enough... Thanks again Paul!!

100' in 60 sweconds? What are you burning in that engine--I've never got the 1'/second advertised rate, but close enough.

In my second year using it, and satisfied so far. Tying into the wraptor with the tail and advancing the snap with the hayauchi, I get to the tippy tip quick with little effort.

On jobs with tall trees, it more than doubles my productivity, because my other options for ascent are all exhausting.

Could you please explain in greater detail? Thanks

I'm pretty sure he's talking about using the Wraptor to get to a nice high crotch that saftely takes 2X his weight....and then placing his traditional climbing system to a higher and more optimized location. I do it, too. The Wraptor changes the way I look at TIPS.

I see. by tying off to the base. Trying to find the easiest and quickest way to unhook and send the wraptor down. I'm thinking to tie off to the trunk then tie in up top and the ground man can untie the rope around the trunk tie my climbing line to that to get the wraptor to the ground. Thoughts?

There is no need to get your climbing line involved in the lowering of the Wraptor.

I tie off the rope the Wraptor climbs at the base of the tree also. What I do to get the Wraptor down is to tie the ends of the rope it is on in a loop by tying it's ends together using a double sheet bend, then lower the Wraptor.

Righto, rope advanced with 21' polesaw after wraptoring up...though a TIP 1.5x my weight might do...yes both tie-in-points and tips of branches look different when you can get to them without getting tired.
