The latest Matt Cornell harness

First attempt with the setup. Frankenstein.

I never use the upper dees so went without. Shrink tube for rigidity.

It’ll take some refining but the idea I think is there. Fun build!
I've got my original setup for a pruning saddle. I use both sets of Ds. I use the upper Ds for a second lanyard when repositioning. I don't like using my bridge for that and I like to keep the lowers not crowded with 2 lanyards. I have the blue CT rigging plates for the lowers now. It's do for a redo now. I'll be upgrading to a pair of REs for the rebuild.

Nice, do you attach the uppers with the overhand as standard setup? I like the idea of the Odin rings. I have one that I've messed around with as a friction saver component.

The rock exotica rigging plates are super good on my monkey beaver though. I would need to figure a way to use them with the current webbing situation I have going on haha.

I look forward to all the different configurations that will come down the line

Yes. Just a quick hookup while climbing over a union, or through one. I'm usually already tied in and rely on my climbing rope as the second hookup. It's when I unclip from the climbing line and need to transition around a group of leaders to reset everything on the opposite side. The ''upper'' lanyard allows me to do this and release the lower and life line for a reconnect on opposite side.

Hope this makes sense. I'm on my 6th beer after a 2 day crane job of 24 plus trees.

Iteration #2. Went with 1/4” dyneema woopie sling for adjustable leg loops. And found these sweet soft shackles at west marine for the lower connectors. And tiny friction rings. Feels very sleek. I also realized I could still use the upper “d” as it’s just loops that I can connect lanyard to. IMG_1347.jpegIMG_1348.jpegIMG_1346.jpeg

Dyneema is not very UV resistant. I’d want a cover on it. Other than that, it’s a pretty interesting build.

I don't get the use of the soft shackles where you have them, wouldn't a loop do the same there? You could spice an integrated soft shackle for the leg loops to act like a buckle too!

Ooo I like where your heads at haha. The soft shackle could be some other sort of splice or something. It seems clean to me, and I haven’t seen This type of shackle where it’s a closed loop on one side and an openable on the other.

Having lots of fun messing with different iterations
