The latest Matt Cornell harness

An MCWS, eh?

I got an OG one too, just leg pads and the belt/ back pad. Got a little pile of various rings, F8s,small rigging plates, and assorted hardware. Some assembly required and I haven’t found the time yet, but one of these days after I get better at double braid splices I’ll put her together.

Yeah let's see it, I'm thinking to do my OG MCRS in webbing, so I'll poach all the ideas I can
I'll get pics soon. It isn't however ideal.

In principle it is the solution to my only gripe with the Valiant.

However there is nothing holding the front of the lower of the two rings to the harness. This causes the lower ring to flip, on occasion.

At this point the only way to address this, that I can come up with, involves sewing the webbing to the harness waiste strap.

The only reason I haven’t bought one yet is the actual buckle and belt isn’t replaceable like the older school saddles

Yes, for what I did you don't need to sew. I misunderstood. I thought you meant you were going to only use webbing

I call dibs on it if you ever need $$ sell it to a fellow new yorker

I'm going to try this. I think it should keep the D rings in place.
Thank see looked like the same flat sided rings the treemotion uses...
I remember Rico trying that config with normal rounded rings and he didn't like it....I wonder if those flat ones are the let toaki g that config comfortable?

I thought the issue with Rico's setup was likely related to using rope to trap them in place.
Not sure. Maybe Rico will elaborate.

However, I think those flatter treemotion rings are superior for the purpose.

I'm still not satisfied with my setup as the bottom ring needs to be trapped at the front.

I love the whole rope harness idea but I find it hard to say the rope feels better than webbing.
I've only got a viliant and I haven't got the rope that Matt or Rico uses which I think would feel better than the CE 11mm lanyard I use for my backpad with 11mm velocity for the legs

I don't notice the rope vs webbing in that way. I find the harness comfortable. I just find with rope it is hard to get the D rings to stay put.

Screw dee rings and go oldschool with a dead eye and cats paw. I can only imagine that dee rings are a vast improvement (never did a work climb with a very oldschool cats paw without or through the rings)

i think the double braid 10 mm most guys are using is softer and flattens more than a kernmantle construction type like the ce lanyard.
i like mine too but so far i cannot get it to feel better than my treemotions. im not giving up on it and i am gonna have a proper suspension kit spliced up for it soon.

What do all think about using something like this....https://www.treestuff.com/notch-dryad-dynamic-1-2-cabling/

I may have taken the idea from kevin b. From a while back but i could be wrong.

An idea for your leg strap bungee that works wonderfully for me... Girth hitch the rear ring on harness and put a Treemo chingadera on it. Locked in place...

Grab the ring on the leg pad and also use a TreeMo chingadera on it-

Quick question/request Steve- Would love to see a close up of the knot you use for your side dees. Here's how I am running mine and it seems to work great, but am always looking to improve my setup....
