T540i XP vibration

I’ve had my T540i for almost a year now. It suddenly has a vibration when squeezed the throttle that is pretty loud and I can feel it in my hands.

I cannot figure out what is causing it. I took the bar cover off and cleaned everything. It doesn’t make the vibration when the bar and chain are off.

Any fixes for this?

Wonder if it can be the motor bushings? Any wiggle on the shaft?

Update

Good news!

The vibration was caused by a broken cooling fan. It’s plastic and costs anywhere from 5-20 bucks depending on where you buy it from.

I discovered that the fan is fragile and it is a common issue with this particular saw.

I am surprised at how much it vibrates and how loud it is with a broken fan.

Hope this helps others !

On an only vaguely related note, I had to take apart my T540i after like 2 years of work recently to clean sap off the trigger and safety lock the other day, which was preventing it from working properly. It was the first time I'd actually seen the fan up close. Mine was in fine condition, but I see how a broken fin could seriously throw off the stability of the saw, and it's a pretty easy thing to take apart and check.

That said, when I put the saw back together, even just mildly over-tightening the screws in the handle area caused the throttle and safety lock to be totally unreliable (sticking), but backing them off a thread or two seems to have it preforming as it should.
