So in the Pacific Northwest I'm climbing tall Doug Firs quite often and use a simple and effective srt setup simialr to this one....

When I get to the top i set up my hitch climber set up using Ddrt with a fimblesaver at the top. I like climbing Ddrt for balance. But sometime you need to go up and down the tree 2-3 times to get everything you need.
Question being, when i get to the bottom after pruning, can i send a running bowline with a yosemite tie off, or even just a biner back up to my friction saver to switch back to srt for neither will go through the thimbles technically. It just seems weird but I'm thinking its alright to do...
any thoughts?
