vermeer has finally released their near compact with like 85 horse on it. hydrostatic cutter wheel, full time 4x4(jackasses), and 35 inches wide with outside dual removed. damn things looks retarded to boot. damn hoses stickin out the top, not to mention it loks like they're usin parts from the 352 to stick it together. messed up part of it is, we waited a year to buy a high hp portable just to see it. prolly go with the rayco super rg90. the super 50 was nice, amazingly smooth cutting, but slow compared to out 1102. (we've become spoiled)

I have had 3 machines with deutz motors with very poor performance long term.

I had always heard good about Deutz from the logger guys(skidders) but just shows that different applications can be different results! How did the tracked rig you fabbed up work out?It looked pretty neat to me!For a little machine all I have is a wheeled Vermeer 252 I bought used from Biers about 10 years ago, converted it to 4 wheels and it stopped tipping over.It still cuts stumps but I'm sure not as fast as a new unit but it has been long paid for.

Nice machine guys. We have the Carlton 3500D tow behind with the 60hp Duetz and wired remote. Been a great machine. Whenever I upgrade, that is the machine I am looking at. Did you deal with Sam over at Powertech? He has always provided good service for us. Congrats.

The one and only. We bought our Bandit 1590 from him and definitely appreciate his service.

Corn Julio I actually bought my Carlton first-whos trying be like who.Alright I did copy you getting the Boxer but we are even.Carlton is great, a little scared when it does a wheeley but im getting the hang of it.I ground eleven good size stumps in less than a hour.It really destroys most wood.As far as the Boxer We snapped a hydraulic cylinder in Oklahoma, working the ice storm.Got it fixed under warranty no biggy.Got the branch manager- awesome made our little 3 man crew really profitable in OK(nobody else wanted to go from our company scared of the cold-wasnt even really that cold).Love the Rayco rg 50 too, not sure which has the most power. All of the made in of coarse America!Cory is that Tj in that weird America Salute pic.

I just tried this machine out. It is not a full time 4wd. You can lock the diff in or out. The rg 90 wont go thru a gate will it? I was impressed w/ the vm It drove over some uneven terrain and cut thru a large stump quickly. The rayco 50 I tried was not as good(salesman sucked...showed up w/dull teeth). I tried the Carlton wheeled and track machines. Both cut well but the wheel machine would not go over the chip pile. The chip guard on the rayco broke the first use. These are just my thoughts.
Anyone else have experience with the vm 852?

Mark,

Are you planning to trade your carlton in?

Got a hold of some wide conveyer belt the other day. Going to fab a set of chip guards, I'll post some picks when I hang them on the machine.
