Stihl selling out to John deer?

just got off the phone with our stihl dealer today. i ordered a echo 360T after he said the 200T is $800 here and rumor has it, that when the current onwer of stihl leaves the company the new guy next in line will sell out to john deer. has anyone else heard this?

this is bad news for stihl. they might end up like poulan and husqy.

Pay the $800 and it will pay for itself.

^ This, or take a trip to the mainland. They are going for $600 round here. Don't bother with echo, I used them for years and they don't compare. One or two jobs will pay for the 200T.

Nonsense.

Agreed.

STIHL will remain owned by family members and will continue to operate the only way they know how- through creating innovative products and delivering them to us through the unique dealer network that supports small business in our country. (That's my personal view in case you were wondering). If you want the "official" response I can get you a link to the press release from last year?

Around here alot of John Deere dealers are stihl dealers now. But they are good with tractors and combines not always small engines if you have a dealer that treats you fair stick with him he deserves it

Let's say John Deere did buy Stihl......it would take the world's worst business person to try and sell Stihl chainsaws under the John Deere brand.
