Stein tal lite bungee lanyard

Yeah.. Honey Bros has gone up on shipping significantly in recent months.. I recently needed a couple small items that were significantly cheaper through them & shipping was over 40 bucks.. 6 months ago that same stuff shipped was 26-28 dollars..

Same thing with Gustharts, they went up.. not as bad though on small stuff.. I'm pretty sure you can still get light loads shipped east coast stateside for like 13-15 bucks..

Alot of times i wish gusharts had the items honey bros has & vice versus with the shipping.

Anyhow, I'm in the same boat, although i feel completely loaded down with gear already & things to tangle, i desperately need a Silky Lanyard.. i literally just dropped an hour ago on the very last cut!!! So irritating.. no ground help either.

I'm thinking something retractable, without a doubt.. Is that what y'all are using? Only retractables?

Maybe contact one of the smaller arborist supply companies that carries other Stein products, and see if they can get it for you.

How about carrying a magnet on throw line, or tied to the end of climb line to retrieve a dropped saw? I’ve used a Fifi Hook in the past, need to get a magnet now.

I'm I'm rolling solo up a tree, I have extra ear plugs, and always a second saw. If it's handsaw-only work, I'm taking two handsaws (regular and a little one), otherwise chainsaw and handsaw.
Once burned, twice shy.

You got all the tricks Brock & Southsound obviously comes prepared!!

Both good suggestions..! I think I'm going to look into something like Ergodynes Reteactable Squids, I'll be honest, the whole thing just looks like more bulk/weight, but the interchangable ends look legit..

Maybe if an key card type lanyard was long enough i could use that too.. i don't think i need actual weight capacity..

I could also just use my actual chainsaw lanyard for handsaw only climbs.. I do allot of those latley chasing the climb into the night. (Once it's dark i don't run the saw).

I hope they do. I’ve been looking for these too, I have one I’ve been using for my 2511. Love it. And have no idea where I got it. Called wesspur, treestuff and sherrill, all denied selling it to me. So c’mon Wesspur I’ll take 5.

I gotta say in all my years of climbing trees a lanyard for my handsaw seems silly.

Yes, I have tried it. Yes, I have dropped my handsaw. All things being equal, in those moments I preferred the damn thing went straight to Mother Earth. Every time I was swinging or moving. Having a really sharp pointy thing following me would have been far worse.

Thats a great point Tony.. i never even thought of that.. I actually wanted a retractable, but i think the same risk could be applied for a bungee..no? Especially, if say, you lost control of it overhead & it comes flying back towards you.. or gets sorta caught/hooked in the kerf as that peice falls away, but suddenly becomes free rocketing back at your face somehow.... Wow, that does not sound fun.. Am i crazy or are these not legit scenarios?
Regardless of Tony's great point, i think id still consider non-retractable, non-bungee one..

Does anyone know of a USA company that carries the stein tal lite bungee lanyard. It is the perfect lanyard for my silky saw but i can only find an overseas company that sells it
I know this is going to sound stupid but...... Have you looked on Amazon? They may not have a "Stein" but they do sell all kinds of tool lanyards. Just a thought!

I think a chainsaw lanyard is a great idea and use one 99% of the time.

I don’t have a problem with a climber using one on a handsaw, just be aware!
