i need some advice on a srt setup for a tree motion. i'm looking at a croll and a double handled accender with a foot strap and a pantin . any one eles using this on a motion? how does the croll attach to the motin? been looking at the suspenders and the treemaginers web site but no luck. any help would be great. thanks jeff

Hey Jeff, I played with that a bit.
I used a delta link on the bottom of the croll,
From the link I had two small peices of webbing that connected to the extra d's on the motion via 2 biners.
On the top of the croll, I had some webbing that I put around my neck. It was a bit cumbersome but it did put the croll in the right position and left the sliding d on the saddle open for a back up.

I gave up on SRT because of my love affair with footlocking
and the fact that I didnt look cool when I did it.

Your too kind Jesse, I am an "OLD" man. That is the beauty of that set-up, you use the MAJOR muscles, NOT just the upper body!

THATS how us "OLD" guys roll, efficiently!

thanks for the input guys i'm still looking for tree motion srt setup pics. sherril says it can be done. i'm waiting for a mc or treemagineers or sherril answer.

I have some pictures of a SRT setup using a hitchclimber...well i should say the hitchclimber is in it...i will get the pictures up before i go to bed

EZ Sounds good, BUT if this weather stays like it is, I MIGHT be combining until the SNOW stays!!!!!

Boy if Norm is there doing gear inspection, they could ALL get a laugh at my set-up. DID I mention that I foot-lock like a pregnant SLOTH!!!!

There seems (to me any way) that some saddles just seem hard to use SRT? I had a 1038 Weaver and it didn't work as well as my Buck Pinnicle (butt board). No scientific backing on that but it JUST felt different!

Jesse's set up is what I used to fly all the time. Worked well but I hated the suspenders so I switched to a bungie tether around the back of my neck. The small dynema slings can be used for other things as well and you probably already own the carabiners. If I recall, I emailed pics of my setup to someone on the buzz but I forget who (BostonBull?). I can retake the pics tomorrow and text them to you if you'd like (just pm me your cell phone number. WARNING! I am not responsible for drunkin text messages or other vulgar pictures sent afterward!)

I've used the petzl saddle, hell, I've owned almost all of the new saddles (except the treeautria). treemotion wins hands down in my opinion. Don't let the independent srt attachment point sway you from such a fantastic saddle, that's how I got tricked into a treeflex.

I now use only my uni and a pantin for srt, hand over hand style. It's crazy fast (I've gone 50ft in 20 seconds with a little effort) and I can work off of it without having to saftey in and switch to a descent mode. The uni is awesome.

Also, with a little practice, footlock srt isn't that bad. I use it with a double hand ascender when the line is away from the trunk of the tree (I'll never understand how someone can footlock with the line going right against the trunk, I'm just not that good at it I guess)

Is your uni connected like Brent's croll position or on its own lanyard? Are you manually sliding it up?
