srt-tree motion setup?

I now use only my uni and a pantin for srt, hand over hand style.

Is your uni connected like Brent's croll position or on its own lanyard? Are you manually sliding it up?

I have tried mine both ways and like it best on a tether above with the Croll at the chest. I find this setup more comfortable advancing in tight situations.

I only have experience with the Sequoia SRT for this setup, so can't offer advice with other saddles.

I think we should hang our motions in the shop and try the sequioa which has a propper SRT attacth. AND a rated loop in the back.

I believe the Mini-boss has a rated attachment on the back for fall arrest, the Sequoia does not. Always verify specs before using.

I hook my uni directly to the bridge as I used to do with my croll.

Yes, I understand that it makes for a floppy mess and it isn't in a fixed position but it just doesn't bother me. The comfort of the saddle far out weighs the small inconveinience of a little flopping around (it only flops around a little while footlocking in srt, when I decompress. I have sorted this out with a little trick I learned from allmark using a blakes hitch on my bridge to make an adjustable length bridge)

That's kinda what I was wondering about. I have limited uni experience but is it more likely to get accidentally squeezed (for descent) in that position? Maybe caught up in clothing.

You can create your own version of the treemotion suspenders, just buy the cheap 20$ suspenders from petzl and incorporate a 3 hole rigging paw (yet another item that can be used for multiple things)

I love srt but hate suspenders and never liked having the croll on my chest. I have my uni connected to the bridge. Above that I have my Ascentree connected to the Uni by a carabiner. The foot strap is connected to the ascender and with the pantin I can frog up the tree no problem. The trick, as a lot of people here told me, is to take small steps. Are you getting ready for the comp Jeff?
I wont make it to TN but some friends will.

Hey guys got the pics i promised idk if it is what your looking for but it does have the treemotion in it...

yet to get in2 srt, but seen it used very well so when get £ together to set it up I will frog my way rather than lock my way. The set ups I have watched have used var length's n diam of bingi cord to help the srt advance better.
climb safe:)

This is very true. When learning to frog SRT, think of it as climbing stairs, 7" rise to begin with, building up to 12"-14" max (at least for me).

You also want to keep the CROLL tight to your chest and low, so before you ascend, sit in your harness and tighten the shoulder strap attachment for the CROLL snugly, so when you frog up, it almost feels like you're being pulled into the line.

This will keep you more vertical, which is what a proper frog ascent should be.
