I know, right? But this thread isn't about acronyms, it's about acknowledging and duly recognizing these 4 distinctly unique climbing systems.You guys are giving me a headache. If you want to keep being confused, just keep adding "D" modifiers. I have switched to MRS and SRS. So much simpler and they will describe any existing system as well as any to come.

The double ascender method of climbing is not new. It creates a system that alternates between an SRS and MRS. See how easy that was. It is not dissimilar to French method of climbing. Both of which are proof that where the rope is anchored does not define a system, but instead if it is moving or stationary does. Multiple ropes or any combination of moving or stationary have no problem being described with either SRS or MRS.
