spyder jack attach midline?

hello folks, i was wondering if anyone out there has one of these things yet and if it attaches midline, thats all im looking for, not that they are junk or that i should use a vt but if the spyder jack attaches midline (can you tell ive been through this before?) does the lockjack attach midline?

i finally have the money together to buy a mechanical split tail and im tryin to shop around a little, the lineboss is looking good but the unicender is right up there with it, these lockjack/sypderjacks are also being considered (only because removal wizard is pushing is at a reasonable price if anyone else is interested)

thanks ahead of time folks

I've used the Lockjack and it can be added on midline...it is sorta tedious, but it can be done.

And no, you can't buy RWs spiderjack before I get a chance to use it!!!!

Zac, you didn't follow the rules! Familytree is going to sick that mean looking bucket of fries after you!

ha, its aint so much the fries that ya should be worried about, the meatball is a killa, i understand completely what you are saying zac, and i currently use a vt knot, but damn it if i wouldnt be nice to not have to adjust my knot after climbing up a tree like a ladder (i am in no means suggesting that any of these devices do this by the way). i am just really interested in what the future of arborculture has to offer, if i dont need to replace my beeline every month and i could save myself 28 bucks a month than i am more than interested

as for your monitary situation zac, can i recommend donating blood, its like cashing in your change jar but it refills itself after a week, 100 percent awesomeness, figure i have about 30 gallons to go til i can buy a treeflex, SWEET!!!

No, the Spiderjack CANNOT be attached midline. Thats a big disavantage. I've been playing with one for about three weeks and... I'll take the Lockjack (twin). But I will say that the Spider climbs RIGHT NOW! It absolutely eats rope and its dam easy to use. I know one thing, you don't want to screw around with it in the tree, because it travels (really fast) down to your rope bag.

RLEWIS- seriously? How does it attach? Do you have to screw it on like the adjuster on the rope guide? Can you feed the tail end of your rope and run it all the way through? What if you have a splice on both ends?

Thanks!

yeah nick, he is serious, you have to thread it through and cant run double spliced ends, im currently looking into the unicender, it has one of the best designs i have seen and a reasonable rebuild price of only 60 bucks and works on both srt and drt

The unicender just seems so BIG and goofy.

That sucks about the spiderjack Russ.

Truth be told though, for a friction hitch climbing Ddrt, you just cant beat the VT!

yes you feed the tail and run it all the way through

Holy crap! That's the most messed up thing I've heard of in a while! I respect the ART tools a lot. I love my rope guide.

Couldn't something have been done?

Well, RW- you can cancel my request to give it a trial run. I don't even want to use it if I can't remove it midline!

(now we see why you're trying to get rid of it!!)

hey, don't be bashing till after i sell it!!!!

no really, if it was not for my crazy redirecting skills

I would keep it....... it is very smooth in the tree. it works pretty well if you always leave it on your rope, and store it in the bag.

i have heard a lot of good things about the spyderjacks reactin times and how smooth it is, i just dont remember the last time i was in a tree and i didnt have to recrotch, i just got my hitch climber in the mail yesterday and today im taking it out to give it a whirl, maybe that will replace my mechanical split tail fetish for a while,
