Spreader snap for TM

I don’t do very many removals. This past job I took on five of em. I had a hard time feeling comfortable in small diameter wood when I remembered that I can just choke my climbing line and rotate it around the stem a bit.
This helped a bit, but still had too much slack, then I just shortened my bridge with a overhand. I know many of you rock an extendable bridge set up, but I’m not fond of the gear interface or cams. The thought came was using a old school spreader snap on my lower dee’s. Just snapping in to both dees would be a little to tight, a quick on and off solution would be the ticket for me as it would be a simi occasional use.
How heavy and clunky are they? Any alternative ideas, or solutions?

Yea i was never big on the mechanical bridge adjusters but the advantages of an adjustable bridge are huge. I don’t have the specs on the cordage but i use a three mil piece in a vt set up tied to my bridge D rings. It’s rated for about five hundred pounds i think but i do my best to not sit in it very heavily. If it failed I’d take a bit of a jolt but I’m pretty sure everyone has experienced worse.

Not too long ago I took a 10’ whipper when an epicormic sprout snapped. Base tied, lots of rope in the system, rope wrench slipped a bit. Regardless, it was pretty jarring. Absolutely no damage done to my bridge by my CT Roll N Lock bridge adjuster.

These are the two that I have, the non locker is slightly heavier. Looks like I wrapped some cord on the eye of the locker to make a softer connection.

I can easily pinch both my lower D's together on my TM and clip my multicender right into both of them together for a snug feel on the spar.

This depends on how you have your TM set up. You may have to adjust your hip/lower D webbing straps to make it possible. But it does work for certain.

A soft shackle loop of the length you want would work. They are cheap, light, and easy to make, quick and easy to install.

Maybe I'm whinny but I love how my set up is dialed in, and I'm not really wanting to change it too much. While I can snap in to the lower dee's with my carabiner it gets a little snug and restrictive. I'm sure adjustment would help, but I don't wanna mess with perfect! I'm starting to lean to a delta, or two screw links and a small ring or a 3 hole plate.

I had the soft shackle thought too, or even a webbing sling equalized.

It's raining today, perhaps I will play around with it.

Hi Mike, from your description it sounds like you may be tri-loading your carabiner, excuse me if I'm reading it wrong.
