Here's a job we did over the last 2 saturdays, quite a contrast in the weather as you'll probably notice. 17 pictures in all so hang in there. BTW, it all went to plan.

The limbs to the right of the picture all originate from the split section, so it had done well to hang on.

The branches on this limb were weighted back towards the tree so I had to take them off individually as opposed to taking them as one. There was not room to cut that limb off at the fork. Here I'm climbing back down.

I neede the 88 on a 36in to be able to work from the one position, you'd never believe it looking at the picture

Someone taught me to pull the cord left handed when I first started using chainsaws in my late teens, never been able to break the habbit.

Last one...thank heavens, that took forever.

Mistakes, only one. The split extended a long way down the butt and I'd fully intended to bring a ratchet/strap to keep it in place while I mad the cuts. Anyway, I forgot it but compensateted to an extent by tying it up with a rope and cutting away very carefully in anticipation of any changes in compression etc.

Also, I did rush the top on the first day because I was worried about the winds that had been forecast, they never came.
