I've tried the Tracked lift, the ez lift, and the omne. The Omne was by far the best, and most sturdy. The Ez lift kept throwing itself off balance on a level asphalt parking lot and would just shutdown completely, i was very unimpressed. The Tracked lift was also very nice. Omne is #1 in my book with tracked lift at a close second. I just didn't like how when the tracked lift was telescoped all the way out and fully extended you could see the hydraulic cylinder has a curve to it which looked sketchy.
Interesting...I thought Tracked Lift and Omme were same company?

Do you think it could have been an optical illusion on the curved hydraulic cylinder? That seems like a hard thing to grasp, when they are only attached at the ends, never heard of such a thing. What do you think could cause that?

What model ez lift was that? Was the computer shutting it down?

Just looked at a video with the tracked lift. The telescopic portion has the really long hydraulic cylinder underside and is attached in three places, definitely looked a bit curved in the video at full. Looked like it actually would have to flex if the upper boom portion did at all.
I did talk in person to a engineer from tracked lifts about that lift. I asked him about stability, like having a top land on the boom. He told me about the tests they subject these lifts to. I forgot the details, but I was not worried about stability one bit. A person is gonna get launched out before anything else happens.

frashdog, interesting to see that after so many interactions about the Easy Lift brand, you are asking such a question: Was the computer shutting down?
What computer? No units is equipped with any computers...

I know there is no computer. It was a polite was to see if he knew what he was talking about...with out it looking like I was calling b.s. on him.

What would cause what he described to happen? Out of level electric /mechanical switch?

He is describing 2 different situations/symptoms:
Getting off balance is possible if outriggers haven't been set properly, which is something we spend lots of time and practice in fam courses to our customers. This machine will do absolutely great if setup properly, and can be perceived deceiving if not. Also, to go out horizontally, you need to keep the lower boom as low as possible (around 25 - 35 degrees) and do all movements with upper boom, turret rotation and telescope.
Second symptom, machine shutting completely off, there is only 1 reason that can cause that: overweight in basket. This is a nice feature that prevents stupidity over safety. Too heavy, man, you won't move...
There is a lot more that can be said, especially about setting up outriggers properly but that describes it well.

We've had a Nifty tm64 for about 8 years. Pretty good lift but lots of issues with computer mother board (replaced twice) and hydrolic hoses blowing.
We've had a platform basket (tracked lift) for 3 years. Great machine, no problems, great for backyard access.
Just purchased a new teupen that is coming in the next few weeks...

We have a tracked lift 72' and we love it. No maintenance issues. If I were to do it again I would get their new 89'. There are 2 drawbacks with the 72' - the side reach and that to get to 70' you have to be under the tree putting the lift in the drop zone.
