Ahhh I know you guys are going to call me out for two "stupid" things I did in the video:

First, I used screw gates instead of my auto lockers. A treebuzz member literally gave me two auto lockers so I would stop using my screw gates. But I forgot them at home and do plan to start using them religiously since you guys always call me out on it.

Second, I used a dead limb to hang the foot end of my hammock! I would argue that the limb is going nowhere but you guys are the experts. Even if it did break I was always connected to my climbing line which was anchored to the main part of the tree.

I welcome your feedback as this is how I will learn to be a safer treeclimber. Thanks guys!

You crack me up, FFish. Keep it up.

I also think you might enjoy a Rope Wrench set up with a foot ascender and HAAS, as long as it worked on the line you choose. I posted on your other thread about ultra light rope. I think you'd run less gear with more efficiency with the RW setup than the RADS, and you may even find it and user friendly when working around up there.

That looks cold to me. Pretty cool in more ways than one. It probably looked strange with only one set of tracks leaving the tree and foot steps all around the tree. Now if you had walked backwards away from the tree, then anyone finding the trail and following it would have really been puzzled.

Thanks guys! Im always looking for friends to join me so just say the word if you are ever in the area!

I will definitely check out the rope wrench and look up this "HAAS" since I have never heard of it. Thanks

Haas haas haas.

Hey ff, if you're in Minnesota you should look into attending the ISA annual conference, trade show, and international tree climbing championship this year. If it's not on your radar already. It is in Wisconsin this summer. The conf is pricey, but the trade show is cheap and the itcc is kickass. Trades how is awesome for checking out gear and learning new techniques.

Great video, I would enjoy climbing with you, you are a hoot but...........snow..............I'll wait for the mosquitoes.

Can you travel much? I'll be doing the tree Tom suggested that is in California in a couple of weeks, or maybe you want to join some of us in Oregon for some old growth firs. PM me if interested.
