Show off them splices

Tuttle, I thought about doing that, but when I order stuff from treestuff it comes with the whip stitch so I figure that since I am new to splicing I want to try to make it look as much like the pro's do as I can. Not that you are not a pro, I have know idea.

Thanks, they all like whipping , and yes its strong, but when your up against the clock, methods need to change and offer long term use, so lock stitching and shrink wrapping is a bonus.

mattbever - is the op 10mm hard to splice? what climb line are you pairing it with?

10mm OP is easy peasy, make sure the core bury is well and truly a fair way up.

Not hard, check this one out if you haven't seen it already.

Nice! There's a nice splicing station for us, Matt!

I'm trying out the OP 10mm for the 1st time now, using it on Blaze. Not a fan of the thinner cords so 8mm is out of the question. Loving the OP on it's own, just trying to find the perfect climbing line to dial it in with. A lot of changes for a 16 strand, safety blue, blakes-hitch boy. Changes are good though.

Not seen that video for sometime, although its very good, there are some points that should be covered.

the cover taper only needs 4 doubles removed, and the core bury can exit 5in from the throat, as long as a good lock stitch or whipping is done.

I did my first double braid splice today. 3/4" Husky Bull Rope

It was a lot easier than I ever expected. Thanks to all the people that gave me encouragement :)

I gotta get away from the sharpie and start using thread or something. This one isnt for me, a friend bought the hardware and cord and set the specs, I jut did it up.
