Show off them splices

Worst comes to worst you could use the jacket threads for lock-stitching. You have miles of it.
I hope that's a little reinsurance from being a possible total loss.

Talking to Sherrillstuff and turns out that there are supposed to be core strands, also that it is a color scheme made for sherrilltree specifically by Samson rope...

Can you say RECALL and CLASS ACTION? If it were me, I would be having a conversation with my friendly neighborhood ambulance chasing attorney.

Actually made by Samson, or a third party (somewhere in a factory in a far away Asian country) to (supposedly) Samson's specs?

That's an idea, realistically I won't though, just too much of an investment for a lousy rope that I've already overpaid for. I have some actual quality 16 strand and some tachyon that i can use instead of the shoelace,I wanted specs cause i was thinking of making it into a few friction savers .Figured i can overlap the buries and the will make it take shape, but idk first imma contact Sherrillstuff and see what the story is with this garbage rope. I only got it cause the color [emoji55]
Hey, All Gear makes a small double braid rope that will probably slide right through that jacket. It's got a good weight rating also. I think Worthaug mentioned the baby powder trick before ....

Ok so after another call there was a misinformation, the rope is sold with no core, apparently they use a massive bury to fill the jacket(they only use it for spliced goods-not as climb line),like if they make a 10' lanyard they use 20' of rope and bury all the way through.... They did allow me to return it fwiw.

This guy right here. Got it from MarkPrz from the fids and fibres course.

I came across this video post on Youtube. It is a pretty good one for anyone wanting to splice Dynaglide except that he can't seem to keep his hands in the picture.

8mm Armor-Prus. 34mm DMM ring.
First attempt. Didn't have to cut anything :bailando:. First attempt at whiplock. I need more practice there for sure. 14" from throats to the bend. Ended up shorter than I had figured, by an inch either side, maybe I didn't account for the bend. That's ok, I wanted it shorter than 30" but shot for 30 as a realistic number for my first attempt.

Looks good Justin. Was thinking about how I would tackle something like this just the other day. Will have to just give it a try and see how it works.

What were your anchor and pull points for the second splice burry?

Second bury was a little tougher. I had had a loop runner girthed to a support pole in the basement. I had a biner clipped onto that. I clipped the biner around the cordage and milked by hand, starting with the biner at the first slice while pulling the cordage around the biner and then holding the eye as best as I could and snapping it. I'm not sure that makes much sense but if not I can try to make a video.
