Man I could use some tips for splicing tacyon ash...I'm just starting double braid ropes studying videos. But some videos it's hard to get the exact measurements. I know a lot of it just like anything is trial and error. But if you have Any good tips I'd appreciate it thanks

I learned from Arlo's video.

I bury the core first after doing a longer taper on it. I just leave a inch or so of the core folded through the fid while pulling through (and obviosuly cut off the pulled strands).

Thanks for the tips...I'm waiting for my longer wire did to come in the mail should be here early next week.

This is the 1/2” stuff, I guess it could still see some significant load on that pocket.

I totally brain farted and thought through one, through the other, I’m good!
So the break strength is higher with a third pass through? I have been wondering why this is done without actually questioning it ever before...

By their logic, what you've got should be good to go, at least the way I see what it says there.
But they also have a bury…

I might just pull mine apart. Probably lose one pocket by fixing the mistake. I used in total 18’ for this configuration which in its current state is about seven foot end to end

I see where your heads at, but I feel that the bury is similarly represented at the other end of the pocket. I just assembled a sling with tiny pockets to achieve the highest resolution so to speak. I did the brummels like you did here to shorten the individual pocket length and they do seem to lock. I haven't gotten to field test yet, so I don't know anything, but I haven't been able to come up with a reason that it shouldn't be good to SWL.

I like your logic. I can't think of a way that they would actually pull themselves apart aside from utter destructive forces, which I don't think my application would produce. We have bigger gear for that
