I have couple of questions on pulley system using a base of a tree as an anchor.
We're filming a short film and there is a scene with simulated hanging, the person should get to at least 2 meters above the ground.
We''ll be using a safety harness with a metal ring on the back from where the stunt man is going to be pulled via rope. (for reference:
).
Will hide the harness under the clothes and won't film the person above the waiste, but the part thats in the film is the rope around the base of a tree and to the branch.
Can you tell me about:
- the knot on the base of the tree
- the knot that holds the pulley
- is the pulley going to stay in place if we just throw it on a branch and use another rope for the lifting part, or we need a away to keep it in a fixed position?
- i understand that there a lot of safety issues, any info that can help on that part will be much appreciated
- diamater and quality of the ropes
- advice on a harness
- maybe there's a better way to do this?
