Setting trunk-cinched TIP from ground

Almost got to the point of wanting to try resetting that TIP higher yesterday, but time and daylight ran out on me. That's a whole different ball of wax though, actually considering doing it.

Situation and question for you guys: I suppose one way I could have advanced it in this particular situation is to lanyard-in (xfer my weight to the lanyard) and simply remove the maillon and reset it along with the AB above the limb that was restricting the loop from collapsing further. Then I could continue doing this until I was up to the top limb the loop was hanging on (highest limb the throw line originally went over). From there, I guess I could get out the throw ball, tie a monkeys fist, etc., etc. Does this sound like how y'all would go about it?

I know this is way way way basic stuff...

Dont forget you have a tail to work with that can be thrown over top, and a secondary ascender used to tie in with, before undoing initial ascent line. Same principle as two end lanyard.

How popular is the two ended lanyard thing? I have several 18' and 30' lanyards at this point that I'm thinking might be useful to convert into a dbl-ended.

My two climb lines are 200' each (both vortex, one red/hot, one green), so I have heretofore avoided pulling the tail over anything :) Will have to try this and see how much of a pain it is in reality. I was also thinking about cutting the second 200 footer up so that I can have a 200', a 75', and a 125' climbing line, but I wasn't sure of how useful a 75' section of line would actually be. Average length canopy anchor, ultra short basal?

As a rule I never go below 90 feet in a new climb line unless it is for queen palms.

if you have a heap of 33ft palms (or less) to do frequently I could use a 75ft line. Just too short unless I have a heap of short trees/palms to do...

I wouldn't cut it. Use a rope bag and you can use as much as you need and keep the rest stowed.
Also check out Wesspur every now and then for shorties. http://www.wesspur.com/clearance/clearance-rope.html

1 - 200,
1- 120,
1- 80,
Buy a different color lanyard.

You can tie to shorts together for a big tree climb with a base-tie.
I've combined 9mm htp (base-tie side, very static) with 120' 1/2" for big hands, and some cushion on the working side of my PSP.

A small rope bag with a center divider (with rope hole through the divider to connect the bottom of the compartments) might be nice for a long double-ended long lanyard system.
Aka motion lanyard, possibly??
@scott_baker had experience with motion lanyards.

Around here the minimum we can legally use is 11mm but the double compartment bag is a great idea, I thInk will do that myself...
