September slump

Going through this right now.

Oddly enough the exhaustion disappears while aloft. But I know my wife and kids are not the cure, perhaps just remaining in the trees would do the trick.

Or lots of coffee.

We're running about 2 months behind on work can't seem to catch up and some days we work 7 days feel great until my head hits pillow then I'm out don't want to get up in morning but as soon as my feet hit the floor I'm good. I'm just glad this dam heat is gone.

Fluids and electrolytes may help. Eating right helps me feel better, especially laying off the adult beverages after a long hard day

Going through it myself. I can't stay awake once I get home, not sleeping well, but I'm tired and fall asleep as soon as I hit the bed.

I do know that my eating and drinking (non alcoholic ) habits aren't as good as they usually are. Lots of lunch on the run or from the gas station. Same with supper.

I think that's my biggest thing.

After moving back to NC from MN, my biggest thing has been sweet tea. I'm a fein.

I've found making my lunch the night before helps a bunch. Small light sandwich, fruit, carrots etc. Lots of water and Vitamin Water Revive has a lot of potassium.
Laying off the fast food will prevent lost time on jobsites too.

I am a coffee slugging warlock. I haven't used any illegals for over 30 years. I don't even use prescribed medications for unprescribed uses. I'm just plain old tired. I haven't really ever recovered from the loss of sleep and the added pressure of being a widowed father of a young child. The sleep deprivation has been significant. I can't wait until he sleeps till noon and eats me out of house and home. I also work two jobs. My fire department gig......My engine runs between 10 and 16 calls usually in a 24 hour shift. The people in my area seem to have the keen ability to sense when I hit REM sleep and then they call 911. I usually have at least 3 calls after midnight then go do tree work. I try to nap as much as I can at the station but getting up out of a deep sleep once and hour is tough. I don't do tree work on the weekends if I'm not at the station so that helps. What kills my weekend is all the stuff I can't get done during the week and a kid who has chosen to try every sport there is. My relaxation is hunting and being in the woods and I rarely have the ability to do that. Before my wife died I used to spent 6 to 8 weeks in Wyoming every fall, living in the mountains and working for a hunting outfitter. Those 8 day stretches in a tent in the middle of nowhere really made a huge difference in my body and my mind. Obviously those days are over.

It's the trees man! Don't fall prey!!!!! In an effort to curb the oncoming slaughter of millions of their "Christmas Tree" brethren, they have declared chemical war against us! I told you damnit-they have evolved and they're coming to get us!!!!!!!!!
So that's it. I was party to the slaying of thousands of.christmas trees in my youth. Now they are taking their revenge.
