saw choices

I am looking at two saws, and wondered which was the best bet.
saw 1

saw 2

I am mainly doing scion collection, and upper canopy biota sampling. No take downs or anything of the sort, those days are behind me!
Thanks, SRTF

I would opt for a silky rather than either one if you're going to be using them in a tree.

Ditto on a Silky. Buy a fixed blade and a folding Silky save $250+.

Another vote for a quality handsaw. For sample collection eschew the large toothed versions in favor of one of the finertoothed and smoother cutting choices.

Another vote for a quality hans saw. Powered reciprocating saws are designed to be operated two handed while standing with both feet firmly on the floor. Not very feasible in a tree or on a ladder. Attached is a picture of a cut on my left forearm I recieved while using a reciprocating saw on a ladder removing rain gutters.
Pat.
