Sad news regarding our friend Hubert....

This news is so very sad. I’ve only this year begun using ART products, but in such short a time have gained a huge appreciation for his products. I have a list of more I want to add to my kit. His story in the industry is an inspiration. It’s heart wrenching that he lost his battle. Maybe it hurts more because our industry seems to thrive with community, and it is hard to process how someone “falls through the cracks”. Blessings to all who know him, as I can’t imagine how you’re hurting.

This is sad news. Hubert was a very clever man. His creations made our lives better

When ITCC was in Birmingham England I was drawn to seeing a device on the rope. We spent time talking about the original Lock Jack. The one he gave me is still in my bucket of ascenders.

Don Blair paid Hubert a complement when he called ART tools arborist jewelry

Thanks Hubert.

I noticed that Hubert died last Wednesday. This is interesting. Hubert came into my thoughts last week. I can’t be 100% sure...but it is very likely I had a random reminder of him that day.

Rest In Peace

Yea it's weird we were talking about whether suicide was morally acceptable or not in the tree free zone a week or so ago.
Very surprised and saddened.

Hubert-

Your ART lived up to its name. Beautiful in form, function, and years ahead of its time.

Every day I spend in the trees I use your sculptures. I feel like a disciple trying to spread the gospel. People watch me climb and then they ask “what is that you are climbing on”? They appreciate your ART too. I try and do it justice. Your sculptures are magnificent dance partners. They make me look good so I try my best to return the favor.

I used say that I wanted to put you, Rock, Kevin, and Denny in a shop to come up with the ultimate climbing device. But I think the world either would have imploded with the gravity of those minds in one place or the fabric of space and time would have been torn apart by egos. Who knows.

I’m glad that I met you once. I’m glad that every day I get to climb on your ART. In so many ways I appreciate what you gave: your time, your angst, your heart, and your soul etched on all of it and on all of us.

Your ART lives on. RIP Hubert
