Here is a few pictures of the unit getting closer to completion. The added control bank gives two options. The ability to free float the grapple rotation for dragging debris, it also adds power rotation when needed.
The boom height is a tad high. Great for loading logs into the dump truck but will make the unit long when feeding the chipper. It's about 10" higher than our other unit. Hard to believe but the extra length is very noticeable when it's extended out in a position to grab brush. There is a fine line for everything.
This is our new machine. Only got 10 hours on it so far. Still trying to master the joystick operations. It's hard after using foot controls for so many years. Should have the grapple done in the next week. Fingers crossed.
That's a nice machine!!!! I just use a 60" grapple bucket... moves brush, wood, chips/grindings, and chips pretty well..... Might be a little harder to chip, but we never switch out buckets and move a fair amount of stump grindings...
