Rope Runner

Tachyon is a great rope because of that third strand which really helps it main't a in its shape. I just wish it were less bouncy! I wonder if the third strand contributes to the bounce

CurvedFrictionBody2.webp Monkeylove, I am in Northern Delaware. I'd really like to see your shop, and maybe get some tips on my milling machine. The alterations I have done are all by hand so far.And I could bring some Kernmaster and other ropes if you'd like to try something other than Tachyon. Maybe get Derrick and others together for a rec climb to play with these RRs?

The "baby bump" mod. A couple were made and the RR'S in Wisconsin are getting together to fly this new mod. I will have helmet cam rolling.

It worked well. We knew it was going to reduce the pressure on the bird to release. Slack tending stayed the same with my kmIII. Sometimes there is an initial snag on ascent but we figured that one out we believe. Also when on a limb walk and the rope tail perpendicular to the climber the pulley slides up to the peak of the baby bump making it hold up for a second until you collapse the entire rr. Overall it has made climbing with the rr a lot more enjoyable.

I quit experimenting after adding my "comfort pad" shown in post #183. I even removed the hump I had added as well.

I found that the comfort provided makes the stock RR perform very well with a perceived light touch. It's amazing what difference having 1 square inch vs. 1/4 of 1 square inch to place your fingers makes.

Enjoying the RR and ZZ together. I will see how the ZZ holds up, at first I thought the midline thing would be a show stopper for me but it has turned out to work well for me. I'm wondering if all the stress fractures are from side loads? I'm waiting to see what is causing them before I make a judgement.

Do you have a how to video for your little shot yoyo? Looks awesome for tree to tree transfers. I wanna get that going DSRT.
