Rope guide ground to air install

Has anyone tried to install the rope guide from the ground. There is a youtube video on it. It seemed like the ratio between effort and reward is off.
Any way very curious if any one has tried this.

I've never tried it. It doesn't seem worth it. Footlock up and set it manually.

a floating pulley with a ground tie is better for this in my opinion.

you know, I thought the same exact thing. I guess the only drawback is you end up having lots line on the ground in the work area, but on the up side you have a great safety feature built in.... You can use the isolated line you bring the floating pulley on as an emergency lowing line.

I usually climb from the ground, into the air to install mine. Its easy.
