Rigging into the truck

Great job with the video, oh and with the tree... can I use the same song in a tree video, or would you be mad?

XRR coming through again, love that thing!

Nice flip line set up, I'd like to copy that too.

Jesse, I already cut 6 ft off the top of my dump truck, will probably cut off more. Got my eye out for the right playground slide, to slide rounds from tree to truck.

We have an industrial liquidation warehouse near me..

Can be had for cheap!

I like how you cut the piece to fit a strap through the log. I will have to remember that.

Why did you use wedges on some of the smaller pieces?

I used the wedges because I dont want to burden my groundguy with a tag line. He was just learning how to lower stuff. I used to just push them off but Im not strong enough to do alot of the things I used to. In fact. I tied the big saw to the tree alot on this job. So I geuss to answer your question...Im kinda weak so the wedges help me get my saw out before I make the peice go over. Now that I think about it. I also do it like this because I prefer my saw off and at my side when the log goes over. I know..Im a wuss. lol

I was waiting for someone to bust my on the huge chuk I laid into the ropes we had redirected in the truck to form two parallel catch lines. It was anchored of loose on the porty. I THINK it slowed the log down and kept it in place but I could be wrong. Frame by frame seems to show it pretty much did what I wanted it to The gear was all fine and the truck wasnt bent up anywhere. Little crazy? Stupid? Come on, I can take it. :)

Wow! Really? Did you just post a video showing a bunch of one-handed cuts after the crap you gave me for doing the same thing? Wow! That's just too funny. For the record, I think the one-handed cuts you made were perfectly safe; it's the hypocracy that baffles me. Oh well. Que sera, sera.

I geuss I sort of agree with you and hey Im sorry ok? I dont agree with you that the one one hande3d cut I made was safe. lol. But I can say that because I know I could have took a step up and put my hand behind the brake
.

It's all good man. I'm just giving you a hard time. You did a good job on the removal. As for rigging into the truck, I'm glad I have a mini loader. I used to rig up stuff like that too. The mini makes short work of it and nobody goes home with a sore back. lol

Nasty tree, wouldn't want to be involved in that cleanup. Was all that done with 1 ground guy?? JesseHuffman needs like 5 groundies hesss crazy fast.

Lots of hard work, good stuff.

Not to mention the extra risk to man and machine of getting hit by one of those 8' bats...
That was a little close for comfort at 4:50... I AM sure you were expecting it and had it under control, still no need for that dance IMO, with just a little help from the loader Gods...

The cut at 4:50 was not as bad as it looked. I didnt expect it to get as close as it did but it wasnt bad. Again, if I had a second ground guy, I would use more ropes, have more control. I really do the best I can. Every cut and rig I make I do as safe and to the best of my ability. My goal is to rig as big as I can to avoid making more cuts. I think what I see when I watch myself do work like this is the fact that some of my cuts dont have the propper hinge or step cut. Not that it always matters but it looks cleaner with a nice release. I edit alot saw pulling out of pinched situations. Im not perfect. Or even very good sometimes.

This tree took us three days. I know I know....

Wish I had a mini, and GRCS to help with the rigging. I also wish I had a bigger truck and a bigger chipper so I could have used the crane. I just dont have the capacity or the horsepower to do a tree like this efficiently. SO, since this was a job for a freind and I had bid it for 1/2 if its worth, I decided to go ahead and take the opportunity to get some practice in for myself and the SUPER valuable training for my MAIN man only man Jesus, He is amazing and it will be sad if we cant continue to work together. Ring phone ring!

Big thumbs up on this dude. We all feel like that from time to time. It's nice to see someone humble enough to say it out loud.

I liked the vid and totally know where you're coming from without a mini. We've cookied big wood into 6" slabs just so 2 of us could get it in the truck. It's never a good time.

Anyway, good job on the vid. Hopefully work will start to pick up for you guys!

That's it...
"O, since this was a job for a freind and I had bid it for 1/2 if its worth"

that's the real problem in this industry... gotta get the right $$$ to make it all work... or you're the one that gets stuck doing all the work..
how much would a loader have cost to rent .. maybe a dumpster big enough to take it all in one shot as well..
Why not put that in the price... we have to stop giving away our work... Underpricing is the real problem when it comes to a professional image for the industry.. not some video on youtube..

stay safe and have fun (don't work tooo hard)
