Rigging Dead trees

I hate chipping dead trees! The branches break up in a million pieces and will clog the feed wheels. Then you have to go around to the tray below and let the stuff out. Pretty much do that about 100 times for the whole job.--Exaggeration. But, they suck. Don't get me started on felling a whole dead tree either...

2nd pic looks as if a vulture is on a limb on left..

From my exp. Cots stay fairly solid after tip death.. scenario which you just have to feel out on your own..
..If removing then piece out top with pole saw then chunk dead wood..or if too dead then notch top on other side of hill..dunno, gotta be innovative to figure things out sometimes for yourself..most of the fun.. =)

what? you keep the tray closed on a chipper!!!

My trays have never been shut once.

Not smart to close a tray under the rollers. It will let out rocks or dirt that a person might miss. Plus it keeps the rollers clean of all that little crap.

Just scoop up the little pile under the chipper when you are finished.
