Revolver for a friction saver

I just got my 1st revolver to use with the RADS set up. Bummer it wont fit in the upper hole on my ascender.
Dang it!
Can I use it in exchange of the larger ring on an adjustable frictin saver?

I don't see how the wire gate version would fit in the top hole of a typical handled ascender, e.g. Petzl Ascension.

You can put the wire gate in a bottom hole, but that puts it much lower than a pulley in the top hole. A biner and a pulley cost about the same or less than a Revolver and is more versatile too.

I'm pretty sure if you clip the wiregate revolver and then rotate through the wiregate side, it will fit. I don't have my gear with me to verify tho. But I think I've done it that way before.
Anyways, I'm sure you'll find a use for it somewhere. I can think of a few...

I'm sittin' here looking at a wire-gate revolver and an ABC ascender - very similar to a Petzl Ascension. I can find no way to rotate the wire-gate revolver through the two holes at the top of the ascender.

Even if it would rotate through, the ascender is so wide and the Revolver is so narrow, there's no way it will fit. But, it will work well in the large bottom hole of the ascender.

It might work on an ascender that just has a single-sided hole at the top like a large Ultrascender by CMI. Nope, I take that back; I just tried it on a CMI Expedition which has a single hole at the top and there's no way the revolver will work in the top hole of the ascender. Again, it works fine in the bottom hole.

Yup, locking revolver on a FS works great, thats what I have with a fixe pulley. I use it more to limit the wear on the carabiner then to reduce friction though.

Drll out a slightly bigger hole in the ascender and the revolver fits just fine. The pulley and new hole are not holding the weight of your body. Don't know how "legal" this is, but it works great for me, smooth down the sharp edges after the hole is drilled and your good to go!

My ascender already has pretty big top holes. But assuming that machining the holes even larger would allow the Revolver to rotate through the holes into the proper orientation, the ascender is still much wider than the Revolver. That really doesn't sound like a good idea to have forces trying to crunch down the ascender and 'spread' the biner.

Am I missing something here?

Careful how you do that, I tried it, something got turned and took a big claw mark on the pulley of the revolver, something was coming in contact and scratching it...

I buffed out the dig mark, but with a regular biner it was fine, weird...

I don't use it for that anymore, I use it for mech-advantage and for hauling heavy stuff into the tree, and for redirects like on the treemagineers site :)

I set it up next to one with just the rings and couldnt really feel any difference. I think Ill just do as Rocks and Trees said and find some other use for it.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Here is a pic of where I have mine for RADS. Like I said before I only had to drill the hole out a little more than was already there.
