Recreational tree climbing club TORONTO, ON.

Starting up a Rec tree climbing club for industry folks and civilians interested in learning the ins and outs of climbing. Will be teaching basic tree ID, ecology, rope ascent on DRT and SRT as well as practice for competition tree climbing disciplines. Club is called Toronto Tree Climbers, and we now have an FB page. First meeting is on November 7th.

Currently I'm the only experienced climber in the club, if anyone in the Toronto area is a practicing arborist or tree climber and would be interested in co-hosting the event with me I would really love to have an extra set of hands.

Have you posted this to Facebook looking for help? There's a group called Canadian Arborists and I'm sure a good number of them are in the GTA and could be willing to help.

Started the club! First meeting went well, small turnout but got to show a couple newbies how to get into a tree. Also got to learn some things from Adam, a fellow tree worker who came out. All in all the meeting went as it should have gone, I feel like if any more people showed up we would have been swamped.

Next meeting coming up next month for anyone interested.

where are you doing your climbs? private property or wooded public areas away from public eyes? requirements for newbies?

im not a newbie by any means but interested in the idea and possibly being able to come out. any chance it was adam brown who was out helping?

First climb took place on private property, No requirements for beginners other than a positive attitude.
