Not sure if you guys actually did it or not, but if you're gonna do it again I'd be into going.

We had a great climb in a white pine out in the woods, always nice sitting up in the top with a view just hanging out and talking trees and climbing. Weather was excellent.

Note to self:
Forget about using a slingshot to place lines below 25 degrees f., all you get are bloopers. Had to hand throw to get the first branch at a little over 75', took 6 throws finally got a lucky bounce.

I have family in New Fairfield, there's a nice pair of tulips in the woods behind their house I've been wanting to climb. Since you're in CT definitely coordinate with Ian (goodaking) and I'll join in if I can, always good to visit there and one of my nephews is crazy about tree climbing:
Climb Skate Jam
We were climbing in the rain, didn't bother him.

That was another awesome climb! IT was nice to meet and climb with paul. We have to get him on the Buzz and set up some more climbs.
Going to check out your traverse vid.

The day before I climbed with Goodaking and Paul I went to the tree to pre-set a haul line. I didn't want everyone waiting around in the cold the next day while we tried to get a line over a 75' first branch on a white pine. My concern was that my slingshot wouldn't reach the branch because of the temperatures (low 20's f), I figured it was going to take a long time to set a rope and I might not be able to. Here's the video from the day I went out to set the haul line:
Solo white pine in cold weather

As it turned out it took me a long time to set the rope.

Are those trees you climb secret. Meaning that only you and your climbing community know of them? I'm looking to find a tree that is around 100', bigger would be awesome. A fellow co-worker wants to climb 100', and i know of a few in my home town in NH, but not sure of any here in Massachusetts. Any help would be great.

There are many +100's in Mass. It takes a lot of work to find great trees in locations where you can climb without being bothered, kind of like a good fishing hole. Which part of Mass. are you in?

Anyhow PM me and we can work something out.

Cool vid Andrew!
I’m going to work on getting permission to climb the Parrot pine tree down my way at the Beach. The lady who owns the house let me climb it 10 years ago, so I don’t see it being a problem. It has beautiful views of long island sound and has a least four big nest in it. Let me know what dates would work for you so I can give this lady an idea when we would be climbing on here property.

Hey Andrew
I’m still waiting for permission to climb at the Parrot tree. I think the people have been out of town for a while. I’m going to try again this week and if I get the permission from them I will try to plan the climb two weeks out.
