Quiet in here

The good news is, Stephan, that you now have the best weapon to destroy Marc. Poopie diapers left in a car would be the destruction of anyone.

As for sleeping: Alder refused to sleep through the night until he was 15 months old. That was the point I finally "Ferberised" him, which is otherwise known as parent/child torture. Look into it in about a year, it works. But just think, you do not get a solid night's sleep for ONE WHOLE YEAR!

Oh, and Blinky, how many kids do you have? You really have a Blinky Junior? (Letting you steal back the thread).

Sleeping is fun.

Missing a week of work and having to catch up is not fun!

We are doing well, ya'll. The kid is remarkably easy going (fingers crossed), sleeping for 2-3 hours solid through any kind of noise during the day, and at night, once he gets a full belly (and his belly is huge!), he drops right back out.

He's cried maybe a total of 2-3 minutes since being home on Friday. He doesn't get too frustrated, and once all his simple needs are met, he just sits there, looking around and making a fish puckering face (probably wants more milk!).

This is the greatest!

BB The reason the twins are so good is they can torture each other, OR the are making plans to be REAL bad later on!

Poor climber only has his parents, LOL, they get his FULL wrath!

EZ in a month OR two you and Carmen better get to work on a play mate for Climber!!!

Well Boston, I think your children are the exception, not the rule. I am sure my little guy isn't the rule either. I really do not think that there are rules. How's that for saying absolutely nothing at all?

I've got two, now they sleep too much.

We Ferberated the first one at a bout a year but the second one we started traing as soon as she went from the cradle to the crib, about 2 or 3 months. It IS torture at first but it's good for everybody.

The other term for it is "Breaking Baby". Usually usred after a child is spoiled, and won't go to sleep.

Our son was born right before seeding, Marlene made sure I got sleep,'cause I was spending16 hrs a day on a tractor. The result was a spoiled kid. It is hard to break baby of this habit, thats where the Ferber Plan comes in.

Now he is 25, he still won't go to bed, AND can't get up very early on his days off. JUST like his MOM!!!!

The Ferber thing is, you teach them to be comfortable alone by getting them used to it slowly.

Thing is, you have to let them cry, sometimes for like, 15 or 20 minutes. Sometimes they cry so hard it will sound like they're killing brain cells and you'll be freaking out wondering if you let it go too long or they're sick or something.

You don't usually have to go that far after a time or two. It kind of depends on how arrogant and attention seeking the kid is so, considering Climber's lineage... oh damn.

It's easy to talk about, but it's hard to do with your own kid. Google 'Ferber sleep method', get the book, you need to know the pros and cons and warnings and stuff... money well spent and he earned it.

Well thenI guess we ferberized our kids too, @ 3 months!

First night in the cribs they cried fro 25 minutes, my wife said enough is enough! She got up out of bed walked toward the stairs, and BOOM! no more noise, they slept 11 hours that night straight through! Ever since that nigth she has been fine with them crying. Screaming/choking from screaming is handled differently.

They seem to be brilliant at getting on their tummies, getting back over is where mom and dad come into play. great news is they sleep through anything! Each others cries, TV, dogs barking, vacuuming under cribs, ANYTHING!

EZ be strong, dont let him sleep in bed with you too much. Get an Arms Reach cosleeper Heres the mini , probably all you need. But theres the larger original

We love ours!

Excellent. We have one of those bassinets that we can roll his sleeping butt around in.

He sleeps through pretty much everything so far!

Time to go change 'ol Poops McGee again!

OK, see, that's where you DIDN'T Ferberate potato head!

The idea is you do it SLOWLY, upping the amount of time you let them cry between visits a few minutes each time. Not 25 minutes on the first night. You killed your kid's brain cells you idiot!

Yeah but it worked! You hillbillies are always doing things slow and deliberate. tear in their and see what happens. We lucked out and got 2 sleeping babies.

last nigth they went to bed at 7:30 and 8:00. Slept till 7:30 and 8:00 this morning. Woke once at 5:30, put the mobile on and lights out for another 2 hours!
