Sprinkle on something (oatmeal, salad, ice cream), grab a handful, whatever. They are almost tasteless. if you put in liquid they become gel like and puff up a bit.
 
soak them overnight and add to your drink. Water, maple syrup or honey and a bit of lemon juice, or agave. Its kind of like those power"gels" that they sell at REI that triathletes drink. it is hydrating and nourishing at one go.
 
Grilled chicken salad and wheat thins. During the winter I make it on Sunday and it lasts all week. I don't think I would trust it in my truck during the summer. The ingredients cost about $30 in the southeast. I got my kids to help me chop everything up and turned it into a 2 hour project. I put it in 5 different containers and freeze it until the day before I plan on eating it.

4 to 5 pounds of chicken breasts, grilled and shredded.
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion sauteed with garlic
1-2 apples, chopped
Sliced Almonds
Dried golden raisins
Dried cranberries
Other dried fruit
Salt, pepper
1 1/2 cup on mayo
1/4 cup of olive oil
