I am a Mac user and run Intuit quickbooks for mac to run the business. We had decided to upgrade to quickbooks online so we could process information in the field right out of the trucks. The salesperson was great and explained in great detail the necessary and lengthy steps to upgrade to the online version. You have to run bootcamp which allows you to run windows programming on a mac and transfer file this way because the online version is only compatible with the pc. so after following these steps my mac was stuck in what appeared to be MS Dos mode from like 1989. Just a blinking cursor. When I told the lady over the phone she transfered me to Intuit customer service....in India. The guy then told me that Intuit Quick books is not compatible with MAC. Which im pretty sure is incorrect as I bought the program and having been running it this past year on a mac! At this point i was pretty p-oed. I called my friend who is a mac specialist and we got my computer in working order again and then I cancelled the online subscription to quickbooks. He told me I would actually have to purchase the entire windows program for mac to run bootcamp to transfer the data. the sales lady didnt mention that id have to invest an extra 200-400 dollars in software. so needless to say quickbooks does work for macs but most of the additional field friendly extras are not very compatible and switching from mac to pc and vice versa is a real pain in the nards. The salespeople were either uninformed about the proper procedure or just rushed me through the process to get my credit card info. as for the guy in India....well i dont know what to say about him. no quickbooks for mac..jeez.
