Questions about the ISA

Am I in a bum state?

I am having a hard time deciphering your post, Holly. Maybe it's the terrible spelling. Maybe it's the terrible grammar.

Maybe it's the "glass half empty" philosophy that I can't buy into.

Any way you slice it, I don't get where you're coming from.

I do get that you don't like yearly dues. That much is clear.

Once again, Hollenriech has me wondering what planet he comes from. A person who's so anti-active should learn to keep his opinions to himself or hey, why not join the club and try to make some positive changes. Like it or not the ISA is a beaurocracy and will always have it's drawbacks, but this organization has done more to advance the field of urban tree care than any other. Simply being a member along with all the other members means that you're engaged in the process in a positive manner. You can be a lone wolf and know as much as possible about tree care, but who will listen to you when you try to pass it on.

Thanks Eric, you took the words right out of my mouth.

I am an ISA and TCIA member. They both contribute in different ways. I know I am a better arborist due to those 2 organizations. I am a Certified Tree Worker and Arborist, and a CTSP. All worth their weight in gold. I was thinking about the CTW/ALS program, but don't think I'll be using an aerial lift any time soon. Becoming a Utility Specialist is a consideration.

It's an investment, not an expense.
